STEP WISE GUIDELINES TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN AND HYGIENIC!!

STEP-BY-STEP EASY TO FOLLOW GUIDELINES TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN AND AVOID DENTAL PROBLEMS!!!!!!

WHO DOESN'T WANT TO AVOID DENTAL TREATMENTS???
Obviously it could be:

  • Time Consuming
  • Painful (if you are not with the right Doctor)
  • Costly

FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN

1. BRUSHING THE RIGHT WAY:

➤ Brush your teeth twice daily with proper technique as follows.

a) Take a pea sized toothpaste on a soft bristles toothbrush

b) Now follow the following steps while brushing.

c) Minimum of 10 to 15 mins should be the time one should give while brushing.

d) Don't overbrush your teeth and always brush gently.

e) change your toothbrush every 3 months

2. CLEAN YOUR TONGUE.

a) Cleaning of tongue is found to be neglected by many or not done in a proper manner but it is equally important as it is to clean your teeth since tongue contains bacteria causing tooth decay, toxins, food debris.

b)Tongue cleaning can be done using a special device called tongue scrapper or a toothbrush.

c) Be sure that you clean the tongue properly

3. INTERPROXIMAL BRUSH : MY FAVOURITE AND GREAT RESULTS

a) There are places where tooth bristles cannot reach for example the spaces in between the teeth(interdental space or interproximal space), inter proximal brushes are a boon for cleaning these spaces.

b) It is available for both narrow space and wide space and this is how you can use it

c) Best part is you can carry it along with you and use it after every meal and then rinse your mouth as only rinsing after meal wont remove these lodged debris between the teeth.

d)  Clean your interdental space after brushing and tongue cleaning and rinse your mouth. Also you can keep your mouth clean after every meal and it will hardly take a minute.

e)I would personally recommend interproximal brush by ICPA(thermoseal) for narrow space and wide space

4. FLOSSING : AN ALTERNATIVE TO INTERPROXIMAL BRUSH

a) Those who are not comfortable with interproximal brush can do flossing and clean those spaces

b) Also it is useful for those who have tight contacts between teeth and inter proximal brush cannot be inserted

c) I would personally recommened dental floss toothpicks which are handy , easy to use and disposable (YOUNIFLOSS )

****NOTE : 1) Cleaning of interdental space is very very important by any of the above methods

                      2) Never use toothpicks or any other device to clean these spaces except the one                                        recommended above.

5.MOUTHWASH : SHOULD YOU USE IT DAILY???

a) The answer to above question is NO

b)If you follow the above steps and keep your mouth clean then using mouth wash twice a week is just cherry on top

c) If you are willing to use then use it once or twice a week

d) Patients who are suffering from any gum disease or bleeding gums might require specific mouthwash as per their requirement prescribed by dentist

6. DENTAL VISITS: MOST IMPORTANT BUT THE MOST NEGLECTED

a) Every six months visit your dentist regularly so if any decay or any disease is present , you can treat at an early stage

b) Do remember that cleaning is not required every six months but only check up is must.

c) Once you have done your cleaning by dentist and if you are religiously following the above methods then dental cleaning is not frequently required.

d) If any dentist is advising you for cleaning on every visit, do ask them the reason..

e)A bad oral health can lead to diseases of heart, stomach, diabetes etc.
