Dont worry here is a simple guide to clear all your confusion with related to toothpaste.. its nothing complicated!!!!!!!
**Choice of toothpaste is more of personal preference and ones need** Once you know which toothpaste suits you,it is the brushing technique and toothbrush which plays an important role
Here are 5 guidelines to select your toothpaste and use it in a right manner
Ⅰ. FLUORIDE
➤Mild abrasives and Fluoride are the main important contents required in a toothpaste as fluoride is the best to prevent dental cavities and also strengthens your teeth➤Avoid fluoride usage by children below six years and people with uncontrolled reflexes as swallowing of excess fluoride might lead to fluorosis (in very rare cases where there is excessive fluoride through other sources)
FLUOROSIS
➤Rinse your mouth thoroughly after brushing
➤I would personally recommend fluoridated toothpaste over non fluoridated but there are few people who dont require fluoridated toothpaste.
➤Use of fluoridated toothpaste has tremendously reduced the risk of cavities and strengthens your teeth
➤Your dentist can also help you with the same
Ⅱ. TOOTHPASTE FOR SENSITIVE TEETH- WHEN AND HOW TO USE IT?
➤If your maximum teeth are sensitive to hot and cold and you cannot see any decay or bleeding gums or any tooth that is moving then opt toothpaste for sensitive teeth
➤My personal recommendation would be sensodyne or thermoseal
➤You need to apply the toothpaste with toothbrush allover and keep brushing for 10 minutes and leave it for 5 mins then rinse it as you do regularly.
➤You need to do this for 2 weeks and if still the symptoms persist or doesn't reduce, you need to consult your dentist.
➤If your symptoms are reduced then kindly switch the paste after 3 months with your dentist advice.
Ⅲ.WHITENING TOOTH PASTE
➤These paste contain abrasives and chemicals to give you whitening effect.
➤Whitening paste definitely gives you changes that you can notice but cannot be replaced by proffesional whitening by dentist to achieve dramatic results.
➤These toothpaste are very effective for mild stains, plaque and mild discolorations.
➤Don't consider for tartar as for that there is different paste
➤I would recommend Crest whitening toothpaste and Sensodyne whitening toothpaste
STAINS
** CAN BE EFFECTIVE ON MILD STAINS WHICH ARE DUE TO TOBBACCO,COFFEE,SMOKING,OR ANY STAINS ON OUTER SURFACE
NOT IN FLUOROSIS
Ⅳ.HERBAL TOOTHPASTE
➤Herbal toothpaste definitely gives you cleaning effect and a fresh mouth but the cavity protection is less as compared to fluoridated paste
➤Useful for people who are allergic to fluoride or those who dont prefer taste of normal toothpaste due to sweet flavour
➤Again it depends on one's personal choice
➤No harmful effect in daily use .
➤You can opt for any herbal available in market but i would personally recommend Herbostra irimedadi toothpaste.
Ⅴ. TARTAR CONTROL
When plaque is not controlled or cleaned it turns hard known as tartar
➤If you are frequently prone to tartar you can opt for this toothpaste
➤I would recommend Crest tartar control toothpaste and Tom's of maine Antiplaque tartar control toothpaste
** IF THE TARTAR IS VERY HARD (SEVERE) THEN GET IT CLEANED BY DENTIST AND THEN YOU CAN OPT FOR THIS TOOTHPASTE ON DENTIST ADVICE
**NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHICH TOOTHPASTE SUITS YOU , THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO FOCUS IS ON TOOTHBRUSH AND TECHNIQUES TO KEEP MOUTH CLEAN.
